• Staying sober is something that I don’t really even have to think about. I just live my life as today, and today I have great friends, and am very close with my family.
  • People will always say all sorts of stuff. Let them. I’m enjoying my life.
  • “Just because I don’t do bad things doesn’t mean I don’t have bad thoughts.”
  •  I think all women go through periods where we hate this about ourselves; we don’t like that. It’s great to get to a place where you dismiss anything you’re worried about. I find flaws attractive. I find scars attractive.
  • I like challenging myself. When I feel like I’m not learning or having fun anymore, then I’ll stop.
  • I can spend hours in a grocery store. I get so excited when I see food, I go crazy. I spend hours arranging my baskets so that everything fits in and nothing gets squashed. I’m really anal about it, actually.
  • Sometimes I enjoy talking, but when it’s like people are trying to find something out about me, I don’t. If we are just sitting having a conversation, being real human beings with one another, it is just fantastic.
  • It’s important to be active in the causes that are important to you … That is how we make changes in this world.
  • I have a different way of thinking. I think synergistically. I’m not linear in thinking, I’m not very logical.
  • If you ask people what they’ve always wanted to do, most people haven’t done it. That breaks my heart.
  • I wish I could find people who just would fight me and break through to me and hold me down and scream their life into my face. I live for passion, the incredible, and as my sister so wonderfully phrased it, “only the marvelous”.
  • When I get logical, and I don’t trust my instincts - that’s when I get in trouble.
  • I don’t believe in guilt, I believe in living on impulse as long as you never intentionally hurt another person, and don’t judge people in your life. I think you should live completely free.
  • The truth is I love being alive. And I love feeling free. So if I can’t have those things then I feel like a caged animal and I’d rather not be in a cage. I’d rather be dead.
  • I never really feel settled or calm. You can’t commit to life if you feel that way.
  • I like someone who is a little crazy but coming from a good place. I think scars are sexy because it means you made a mistake that led to a mess.
  • I have several tattoos on my body, and I love them.
  • I love doing normal things - movies, shopping, going out with friends, going hard at the gym, writing, reading, cooking, taking hot bubble baths - that’s a big one for relaxation.
  • “I’m extremely honest, and I pride myself on it. I don’t try to be shocking. I’m playful, and I know when something I’m saying is maybe shocking, but it’s just the truth, I never wanted to be scary to people or upsetting to people. I simply want to live the way I need to live.”
  • On Love: “Love is the ultimate outlaw. It just won’t adhere to any rules. The most any of us can do is to sign on as its accomplice. Instead of vowing to honor and obey, maybe we should swear to aid and abet. That would mean that security is out of the question. The words ‘make’ and ‘stay’ become inappropriate. My love for you has no strings attached. I love you for free.” -Tom Robbins
  • On Self-Reliance: “I do not wish to expiate, but to live. My life is not an apology, but a life. It is for itself and not for a spectacle. I much prefer that it should be of a lower strain, so it be genuine and equal, than that it should be glittering and unsteady. I wish it to be sound and sweet, and not to need diet and bleeding. My life should be unique; it should be an alms, a battle, a conquest, a medicine… Few and mean as my gifts may be, I actually am, and do not need for my own assurance or the assurance of my fellows and secondary testimony.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
